A brilliant “entry-level” rosĂ©, the Antidoto Roselito is from Ribera del Duero in Spain. It is a fresh and elegant rosĂ©, with complex floral notes.

TASTING NOTES FROM THE CURATOR

Bodegas Antidoto’s Roselito is a great entry-level rosĂ©, from the DO Ribera del Duero. It’s made with Tinto Fino and Albillo grapes, fermented for 21 days in stainless steel tanks. It has a wonderful peach color, and scored a 92 on James Suckling, with an ABV of 13.5%. It has complex floral aromas, with notes of cherry. It’s fresh and elegant on the palate, with a nice acidity.

PREPARATION AND PAIRINGS

The Antidoto Roselito is best paired with light appetizers, like salads and tapas. It’s also great with lighter foods, like grilled turkey and grilled chicken. But it also lends itself well to spicy dishes, like Indian or Thai food.

FROM LOIRE TO SORIA

Bertrand Sourdais, aka ‘El Vigneron de las Tierras de Soria,’ founded Antidoto. Bertrand hails from Chinon (Loire), where his family has been involved in the wine industry for five generations. He explored the possibilities of Soria’s particular terroir, always looking for a new challenge. The climate of Ribera del Duero is harsher and colder than the rest of the wine area, and many vineyards are situated at high elevations. He founded the now-famous Dominio de Atauta and served as its technical director until 2010. In 2016, he recognized an opportunity to launch Bodegas Antidoto with a partner. He now works as a winemaker for Antidoto, Dominio de Es, and Domaine de Pallus, the family’s Chinon estate.
