Valder¬≠iz con¬≠veys a con¬≠nec¬≠tion between the vine¬≠yard and the land in every bot¬≠tle they pro¬≠duce. The Valde¬≠hermoso is one of their most dis¬≠tinc¬≠tive, a clas¬≠sic through¬≠out the last decade.


Aged for 8 months in French oak bar¬≠rels to bring out the tin¬≠ta del pa√≠s, this Valde¬≠hermoso is full of char¬≠ac¬≠ter, with intense aro¬≠mas of well-ripened wild fruits and under¬≠lay¬≠ers of spice and a cer¬≠tain smok¬≠i¬≠ness. It is well-round¬≠ed on the mouth, with much of its body com¬≠ing from smooth¬≠ly pre¬≠sent¬≠ed tan¬≠nins. It is very fruity with a hint of wood, and has a pleas¬≠ant, lin¬≠ger¬≠ing finish. 


With its bold fla¬≠vors, this is a wine that heav¬≠i¬≠ly favors roasts and grilled meats, espe¬≠cial¬≠ly steaks. Mex¬≠i¬≠can food affi¬≠ciona¬≠dos will enjoy this wine with heavy pep¬≠pers and spices, as well as a whole slew of toma¬≠to-based saucy dishes. 


Valder¬≠iz aims to achieve a nat¬≠ur¬≠al wine-mak¬≠ing process, ensur¬≠ing that the grapes are harmed as lit¬≠tle as pos¬≠si¬≠ble from har¬≠vest to fer¬≠men¬≠ta¬≠tion, to aging, and to bot¬≠tling. They use a com¬≠bi¬≠na¬≠tion of French and Amer¬≠i¬≠can oak bar¬≠rels to cre¬≠ate their sig¬≠na¬≠ture taste. Today, their win¬≠ery cov¬≠ers about 60 hectares of organ¬≠ic vine¬≠yards in the Rib¬≠era del Duero.

Storage Instructions

Store unopened red wines in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from con¬≠stant vibra¬≠tion. Keep your bot¬≠tle hor¬≠i¬≠zon¬≠tal in a wine rack or cel¬≠lar to retain the moist¬≠ness of the cork. The ide¬≠al tem¬≠per¬≠a¬≠ture for stor¬≠age is between 16 to 18¬įC. Once opened, a bot¬≠tle will be good for 3 to 5 days stand¬≠ing upright in the refrigerator.
