Choose by milk source

Compare cow's-milk cheeses, goat cheeses and sheep's-milk cheeses. Cheeses made with more than one animal's milk appear in Mixed Milk Cheese, where the blend is identified.

Raw milk or pasteurized?

Browse raw-milk cheeses or pasteurized cheeses when milk treatment matters to your choice. This describes how the milk was treated, not the cheese's flavour or texture. Thermised milk is a separate treatment and is not labelled as either raw or pasteurized in these selections.

Choose a texture and rind

For texture, explore fresh, soft, semi-soft, semi-hard or hard cheeses. These are practical eating guides; maturity can change how firm or yielding a cheese feels.

Rind and ripening style offer another route. Compare bloomy-rind cheeses, washed-rind cheeses and blue cheeses. A soft cheese can have a bloomy or washed rind, while milk source remains a separate detail.

Cheese for pasta and cooking

Compare ages in our Parmesan and Parmigiano Reggiano selection, or explore grating cheeses for alternatives including Pecorino Romano and Truffle Moliterno. For a shared baked dish, see our tartiflette recipe.

Build a cheese board

A balanced cheese board mixes texture and intensity. Begin with a soft, yielding cheese, add a firm or aged selection, then bring in a blue or washed-rind cheese for contrast. Explore our French cheeses, Italian cheeses, and Spanish cheeses to shape the board by region.

Add crisp crackers, a few slices from the cold cuts counter, and a restrained spoonful of honey or syrup. Leave enough space between the cheeses for guests to taste each one clearly.

For the bottle, fresh and delicate cheeses often sit comfortably with white wine, while firmer, more savoury styles can meet a well-chosen red wine. When the board opens a celebration, Champagne and sparkling wine bring lift and refreshment across a range of textures.

Explore by origin

Alongside France, Italy and Spain, browse Swiss cheeses, Filipino cheeses, British cheese, Gouda and Dutch cheese snacks, or Greek feta and Cypriot Halloumi. Check each product for its actual format and availability.
