TASTING NOTES FROM THE CURATOR
Picked from the fruits of the Argan Tree found in the arid regions of Southwestern Morocco, this rare and precious oil is lightly roasted before employing the Moroccan time-honoured tradition of hand-pressing. The result is a deliciously complex and refined oil that pours a beautiful golden brown in color.
A taste of this oil greets your palate with a subtle but distinctively nutty flavor somewhere in the middle of a walnut oil and a hazelnut oil. Toasted, creamy with a warm, nutty aroma.
PREPARATION OR PAIRINGS
Unlike other types of oils, Argan Oil should only be cooked over a low to medium heat. A high temperature (in excess of 60°C) removes the flavor and aroma, as well as burns away the healthy fatty acids of the argan oil.
Terre Exotique Argan Oil is a versatile condiment, best used with cold dishes or as a finishing drizzle to hot plates, Add a touch of flavour and richness to salads, grilled vegetables, soups, even traditional Moroccan fare such as tagines and amlou.

An endangered fruit coupled with a labor-intensive process results in a high expense for these wonderful oils. Produced from the rare fruits of the Argan Tree endemic to the arid region of southwestern Morocco, the process of creating traditional argan oil starts with handpicked argan fruit, a hard nut that contains the prized argan kernel. Breaks open the shell reveals the beautiful argan kernels that are then lightly roasted before being hand-pressed to produce Moroccan’s liquid gold.
Store in a cool, dry, dark cupboard, away from the heat and light. Choose a spot in the kitchen that’s away from the oven. The best temperature for storing oil is from 13 to 21°C.
