This refreshing white wine from Handpicked Wines is made with 100% Chardonnay grapes from Yarra Valley. They’re harvested by hand, whole-bunch pressed, fermented in barrels and tanks, and aged for 10 months in stainless steel tanks, and old and new French oak barrels. It’s a medium-bodied wine, with an ABV of 13%. Soft and refreshing, it exudes aromas of fresh citrus and stone fruit, with notes of cashew nuts. On the palate, you get a nice, bright fruitiness, a creamy texture, and a clean, crisp finish.
Pair the Handpicked Selection Chardonnay with a roast chicken or pork, or a cream-based pasta. It also goes great with seafood. Try it with baked salmon, grilled tuna, or baked prawns.
Founded by current managing director, William Dong, Handpicked Wines is an Australian company that makes wines with all the expressions of their region and vineyards. But William Dong created this company with little knowledge about the industry and the challenges that were to face him. He loved wine, and wanted to make wine that would bring people together. He quickly realized that to achieve this dream, he needed some of the best vineyards and the best people. He purchased the Capella Vineyard on the Mornington Peninsula in 2013, and from there have grown to own six vineyards spanning Mornington, Tasmania, Barossa Valley, and Yarra Valley. They’ve come a long way since, and still, they continue to grow. Their team is bigger, they’ve won awards, and they make wines in more regions. But their purpose remains: to share their love of wine to as many people as possible.
Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
