Tasting Notes From The Curator
A light, fresh, versatile white wine from Petit Chablis, France, the Domaine Roland Lavantureux Petit Chablis is elegant and rich. With its pale straw color, it’s crispy and refreshing.
On the nose, you get crisp notes of green apple, peach, lime, and lemon. It’s vibrant, with an excellent acidity, and gives flavors of bright citrus, peach, and apple.
Preparation And Pairings
This incredibly elegant Petit Chablis is perfect with soft cheeses like halloumi or mozzarella. Enjoy it with fresh tomatoes and basil. Grilled vegetables also work great with it, as will sushi and sashimi.
Any Asian seafood dish is also a good choice. Try it also with breaded chicken, fish, with a bechamel pasta or any other creamy pasta. Petit Chablis is also absolutely beautiful with oysters—try any from our great range.
Only The Beginning
Marine and Gervais sold wines from their domain in barrels to Auxerre and Paris. It was Roland Lavantureux, their son, who was the first to bottle the wines. It was in 1979, and he gave his name to the domain. Together with his wife, Brigitte, they expanded said domain from five hectares to 20 hectares.
Today, his own sons, Arnaud and David, have taken over the family business. Arnaud focuses on the vineyard and the winemaking, and David is in charge of sales and marketing. Together, they strive to create and sell wines that are representative of their terroir. The wines of Lavantureux have fleshy cores, dynamic acidities, and saline finishes. This is a winery you will definitely here more of in years to come.
