This Cellar Selection Sauvignon Blanc by Sileni Estates is made in a fresh, minerally style with the aromas and flavors of grapefruit, passionfruit, and other tropical fruit, plus gooseberry undertones. It is balanced on the palate, with a lovely herbal taste and a lengthy, zingy finish. It’s won Gold at the New Zealand Wine Show and has 4.5 Stars on Australia’s Winestate Magazine.
This herbaceous wine pairs well with meat and fish dishes flavored with rosemary, basil, mint, or cilantro. Try it with rosemary baked chicken or pork chops, or perhaps a grilled sea bass or perch. This is a wine that goes well with seafood like crab, lobster, and mussels as well. Sauvignon Blancs also get along famously with soft, briny cheeses, especially the more pungent goat ones. We like it with our Crottin by Fromagerie Beillevaire.
Sileni Estates is inspired by the mythological Sileni, wine-loving followers of Dionysus known for feasting and having a good time. The winery believes in the trifecta of great wine, great food, and great company—essentials for a good life. Their wines showcase the terroir of Hawke’s Bay and Marlborough in beautiful New Zealand, relying on local knowledge and international innovations to create their stunning products.
