The Larkün Riesling by Pandolfi Price Winery is made with 100% Riesling grapes from the Santa Inés vineyards, in Itata Valley in Chile. These grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks for 12 months, and exudes a light-yellow color with tinges of green. This dry white wine has an ABV of 12%, and has classic Riesling aromas, followed by notes of wild herbs and yellow fruits. On the palate, it has a sharp acidity, but a long and fresh finish.
The Pandolfi Larkün Riesling is great to pair with cured meats. It also goes brilliantly with shellfish, like butter crab or steamed shrimp, as well as spicy foods like curries, and jerk chicken.
Itata Valley is the birthplace of Chilean wine, and is the oldest wine region in country, having found its beginnings in the 16th century. The vineyard in Santa Inés, which is found on the banks of the Larqui River, were planted in 1992. It exudes all the magic and strength of the Itata Valley, reflecting the full potential of its terroir.
The Pandolfi Price family arrived in Santa Inés in 2002, with little knowledge of viticulture. Unlike other families, they had nothing to do with wines and grapes until they bought the vineyards. but it turned out to be serendipity. With utmost respect for the environment, the grape, and the terroir, Pandolfi Price Winery makes artisan wines with passion. Taking it one day at a time, learning as they go, they are quickly becoming an important name in Chilean wine.
Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
