The Quevedo Rosé Port is a Portugal wine perfect for cooling off during humid summer nights. It gives off a sweet aroma that evokes memories of lazy sunny days.
At first taste, you are immediately greeted by the red fruity notes of strawberries and raspberries, before it finishes off silky and crisp on the palate. It owes its beautiful deep pink color to the careful preparation: a limited contact between the juice and skin of the grape during process, and fermented at cool temperatures for 10 days, ensuring the preservation of color and flavor. It is very easy to drink, and goes down smooth.
A very versatile drink, best served chilled or on the rocks, this port wine pairs beautifully with blue cheese or light salads for appetizers. The sweetness of this wine also balances well with bigger, saltier flavors, like anchovies, or a lamb dish with herbs. Pair it with a curry or other dishes with a bit of spice—a guaranteed excellent combination.
With its bold flavor and sweet tones, it also makes an excellent dessert wine that you can serve with cake or other sweet desserts. Or break it out for cocktails! Enjoy a summer sunset and blend this in with some fresh strawberries, some fresh raspberries, a bit of lemonade and sparkling water. It’s the perfect day-ender.
The Quevedo family has owned a small winery in Duoro, making port and growing grapes, for generations. But it wasn’t until 1986 (when Portugal joined the European Union), that they started bottling and selling their port wine under the family name.
The Quevedo winery currently has 114 hectares of vineyards in over six properties in the Duoro Valley, ensuring the diversity of their grapes and the variety of aromas and flavors in their wines.
