The Marqués de Cáceres Viura is made with 100% Viura grapes from Rioja, fermented in stainless steel. It’s released while still young to fully appreciate its freshness and vibrancy. Fresh and fruity, it has an ABV of 12%. It gives aromas of melon on the nose, with floral hints. On the palate, it is vivid and clean, with a wonderful elegance and smoothness, with a lingering and well-balanced aftertaste.
Enjoy the Marqués de Cáceres Viura as aperitif, with some soft and mild cheeses. For main courses, pair with salads, and fish and seafood dishes.
Marqués de Cáceres was founded in 1970, by Enrique Forner. He worked in the wine trade as a child, and his grandfather and father founded “Vinicola Forner,” which produced, sold, and exported wines in Sagunto, Valencia in Spain. In 1952, while he was exiled to France due to the Civil War, he began his wine journey. He bought chateaux grand crus classes in Bordeax, in the Rhone Valley, and the Loire Valley. He returned to Spain in 1968, though, and chose Cecinero and La Rioja to continue his winemaker dreams. Today, it is Christina Forner, his granddaughter, that continues both his dream and his legacy, keeping to tradition while keeping up with the times.
Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
