The Chateau Loudenne Bordeaux Blanc is made with Sauvignon Blanc and Semillion grapes, hand-harvested, pressed in whole bunches, vinified in French oak barrels and low temperature tanks, and aged for five to six months. A dry white wine, it has an ABV of about 13%.
It’s expressive on the nose, with lively and balanced aromas of citrus, and notes of sultanas, nuts, and peaches. It’s round and balanced on the palate, with powerful flavors and notes of wood at the end, and a long finish.
The Bordeaux Blanc by Chateau Loudenne is wonderful to pair with fish like salmon, tuna, cod, halibut, or mackerel. It’s also great with roast chicken, asparagus risotto, or an arugula salad with lemon and parmesan.
Chateau Loudenne began it’s 350-year history with Alfred and Walter Gilbey, two British wine merchants who loved the good life. It was in 1875 when they decided to call the property their home in France, with the Loudenne harbor able to ship wines to London and around the world. Called “The Pink Chateau” for the color of its walls, it was witness to many a lively and elegant party, and a family and company that would build the vineyard’s glowing reputation.
There is a quote said in the Médoc— “There is no great vineyard which cannot see the river.” Chateau Loudenne is one of the few with a waterfront view of the River Gironde, located west of it. It became the first peninsula chateau in Médoc to produce white wine in 1880. Since then, it has been producing Bordeaux wines with quality fitting for the lavish celebrations held in its history.
Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
