This Rosé is made with a blend of 50% Grenache, 40% Cinsault, 5% Merlot, and 5% Marselan grapes, which are harvested manually at night to preserve temperature. It then results in this incredibly elegant and perfectly balanced wine, named for the winemaker’s daughter, who designed the label.
With its brilliant pale pink color, the Chateau Croix de Labrie Camille de Labrie Rosé has a fresh and aromatic approach on the nose, with floral and fruity notes. It has a medium body, and is crisp and fruity. On the palate, you get raspberries, black currant, grapefruit, candied apple, and rose petal.
Pair the Chateau Croix de Labrie Camille de Labrie Rosé with soft cheeses and light salads (think niçoise or chicken). It’s also great with grilled vegetables, and rich fish like salmon, or even with lamb or duck.
One of the smallest Grand Cru St. Emilion estates, the Chateau Croix de Labrie began its life in 1991. It was a humble two hectares of vineyard, owned and made famous by renowned couple, Michel and Ghislaine Puzio-Lesage.
In 2013, the Puzio-Lesage family sold the Chateau to the Courduries, Axelle and Pierre. It was a difficult first year for the new owners, only able to produce four barrels of wine.
But they persevered, and their passion and talent shine through in their wines that reflect the richness and depth of the terroir. Axelle is the winemaker, handling everything from pruning to harvest to vinification to aging. The Courduries have new, modern cellars, as well, moving Chateau Croix de Labrie toward a very bright, very successful future.
Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 5 to 7 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
