This elegant red wine is made with Pinot Noir grapes from vines of around 50 years old, in Chambolle-Musigny. It’s intense but still delicate, elegant and subtle, with an ABV of 13%. It has a bright ruby color that may darken over time. It has a refreshing bouquet of violets and red berries on the nose, that gives way to spiced ripe fruits and prunes as it ages. On the palate, it’s well-structured, rich, and complex, silky, with red fruit notes.
Pair the Digioia-Royer Chambolle Musigny Village is wonderful with cheeses like Brillat-Savarin, Reblochon, or Vacherin. Round out your starters with a variety of cured meats. For entrees, it’s great with a well-roasted lamb or veal.
This Burgundy domaine was founded by Victor Moretti in the 1930s, and taken over by his daughter, Genevieve Royer-Moretti in 1982. She passed on the domaine to her son-in-law, Michel Digioia, in 1999, and he has since been in charge of it.
The cellars of Domaine Digioia-Royer are found right in the middle of Chambolle-Musigny, one of the most well-known villages in Cote de Nuits. It’s also one of the smallest. But Michel Digioia likes it this way. Though he thinks of expansion, he retains that he does not want too much of it. A hands-on man, he refuses the thought of being confined in an office, having other people do the real work for him. he believes in being out in the fields, tending to the vineyards and the cellar himself. He wants to be there every step of the winemaking process. This dedication is what is setting Domaine Digioia-Royer apart; their wines speak for themselves.

The ideal temperature for storage is between 16 to 18°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
