TASTING NOTES FROM THE CURATOR
The Casa Rinaldi Carciofi alla Romana are made with attentively selected artichokes, prepared with an ancient Roman recipe. It’s packed in authentic Italian Extra Virgin Olive Oil, marinating the artichokes to keep them not only fresh, but flavorful.
These artichokes are bursting with deliciousness, with the earthy, nutty flavors and herbaceous notes of the artichokes coming through. The EVOO gives it a delicate, slightly fruity dimension that is just sublime.
PREPARATION AND PAIRINGS
Believe us when we say you can eat these artichokes on their own, straight from the jar. But if that’s not your style, fold them into your omelets for a great, hearty breakfast. It is also perfect for your homemade pizzas. A spinach-artichoke dip with some pita or crusty bread is also excellent. You can also sauté these with some brown butter for a nice side dish. They’re also great for open-faced sandwiches, with hummus, feta cheese, and some sun-dried tomatoes. It’s also great in risotto or a vinaigrette.
A CONCRETE REMINDER
Casa Rinaldi as a company was birthed from a passion for Traditional Balsamic Vinegar, for which Modena is known. Its name is taken from the 1888 building owned by the Rinaldi family, which served as a vinegar factory. The building stands to this day, and is both an active component, being used in the company’s production, and a metaphorical marker—a reminder of tradition and quality.
