This white wine is aged for a year in new and old French oak. It’s on the light side, but is full-bodied and complex. Dry and acidic, it gives notes of apricot, peach, apple, and citrus, and undertones of oak and vanilla. All in all, a delicious and refreshing Vinho Verde.
This Portugal wine is perfect as aperitif. Have it with some grilled Halloumi, or with a soft cheese, like the Malagos Petite La Regina. The Soalheiro Alvarinho Reserva 2018 also pairs beautifully with seafood dishes, like a clam pasta, or poultry, like a baked chicken dish.
Light and refreshing, Vinho Verde is a type of white wine largely and widely consumed in Northern Portugal. Usually made up of local grapes, like Albariño, Loueiro, Azal, and Arinto, this wine has floral and fruity notes, and intended to be consumed young.
Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
