Made with Chardonnay grapes from the Santa Inés Valley in Chile, the Pandolfi Larkün Chardonnay is fresh and elegant, with notes of citrus and herbs.

TASTING NOTES FROM THE CURATOR

The word Larkün means “Larqui River” in Mapuche, an Araucanian language spoken in Chile. The Pandolfi Larkün Chardonnay is made with 100% Chardonnay grapes from the Santa Inés vineyards in Itata Valley, Chile. They were fermented in stainless steel tanks for 12 months, and shows a gorgeous pale gold color with greenish hues.

This dry white wine has an ABV of 14%, and is balanced and easy to drink. It’s delicate on the nose, with creamy, fruity qualities. On the palate, it’s juicy and elegant, with a wonderful freshness, and citrusy and herby notes.

PREPARATION AND PAIRINGS

A beautifully balanced white wine, the Pandolfi Larkün Chardonnay is great to pair with rich fish dishes, like baked salmon or grilled tuna. It’s also great with vegetable dishes, like chop suey or spinach lasagna.

A NEW ENTERPRISE

Itata Valley is the birthplace of Chilean wine, and is the oldest wine region in country, having found its beginnings in the 16th century. The vineyard in Santa Inés, which is found on the banks of the Larqui River, were planted in 1992. It exudes all the magic and strength of the Itata Valley, reflecting the full potential of its terroir.

The Pandolfi Price family arrived in Santa Inés in 2002, with little knowledge of viticulture. Unlike other families, they had nothing to do with wines and grapes until they bought the vineyards. but it turned out to be serendipity. With utmost respect for the environment, the grape, and the terroir, Pandolfi Price Winery makes artisan wines with passion. Taking it one day at a time, learning as they go, they are quickly becoming an important name in Chilean wine.
