This Benjamin Leroux Pinot Noir is an energetic red wine, with berry notes on the nose, and hints of spice on the palate. It has a medium body, and pairs well with hearty foods.

TASTING NOTES FROM THE CURATOR

Made with Pinot Noir grapes from the Chambolle-Musigny appellation, this Benjamin Leroux wine exudes a deep red, almost purple color, and an ABV of 13%. An energetic wine, it exudes a bouquet of blackberry and raspberry. It’s medium-bodied on the palate, with chalky tannins, and hints of spice toward the finish.

PREPARATION AND PAIRINGS

Pair the Benjamin Leroux Chambolle-Musigny Village with rich fish, like salmon and tuna. It also goes great with roast chicken or roast duck, and glazed ham. And of course, it pairs brilliantly with a chargrilled steak, grilled lamb, or beef bourguignon.

THE PRODIGIOUS VIGNERON

Benjamin Leroux is a native of Burgundy, and is a winemaking prodigy. He attended Lycée Viticole, a prominent wine school in Beaune, at only 13 years old. By the age of 26, he was general manager and winemaker of Domaine du Comte Armand. He launched his eponymous label in 2007, to wide critical acclaim. He has risen through the ranks of Burgundy producers at a spectacular rate, thanks to his modern winemaking approach that he combines with respect to tradition and his deep knowledge of viticulture. This young vigneron has a bright future ahead of him, one that the winemaking world is eager to see.
