Domaine Roland Lavantureux Fourchaume Premier Cru 2018
Elegance and finesse
The Domaine Roland Lavantureux Fourchaume Premier Cru is a white wine that is full of elegance and finesse.
TASTING NOTES FROM THE CURATOR
Structured and lovely, this Chardonnay is easy to drink. A crisp white wine, it is fermented in stainless steel tanks, and has a lovely structure and beautiful balance.
Aromas of rosemary, apple, citrus and mushrooms greet you, followed by a blend of floral and fruity notes. On the palate, it exudes melon, citrus, with a noticeable and pleasant complexity.
PREPARATION AND PAIRINGS
This Premier Cru’s natural pairing is oysters. Take your pick from our great range!
It also goes great with soft cheeses, like Brie. Pair with it foie gras, and sushi or sashimi. It’s also great with rich fish like salmon and tuna, or smoked trout. Or with shellfish, like lobster, and king crab.
ONLY THE BEGINNING
Marine and Gervais sold wines from their domain in barrels to Auxerre and Paris. It was Roland Lavantureux, their son, who was the first to bottle the wines. It was in 1979, and he gave his name to the domain. Together with his wife, Brigitte, they expanded said domain from five hectares to 20 hectares.
Today, his own sons, Arnaud and David, have taken over the family business. Arnaud focuses on the vineyard and the winemaking, and David is in charge of sales and marketing. Together, they strive to create and sell wines that are representative of their terroir. The wines of Lavantureux have fleshy cores, dynamic acidities, and saline finishes. This is a winery you will definitely here more of in years to come.
Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
