Notes From The Tasting Curator
The wine has a flavor crystalline in its sharpness, rounded out with a hint of saffron and cream at the end. On the nose, it brings out an earthy and mineral notes. It is balanced in flavor and gives off a smooth clean taste up to the very last drop.
Pairings
The Lionel Osmin & Cie La Reserve Sauvignom Blanc is a wonderful pairing partner with herb-driven sauces, white meat like chicken and turkey, seafood such as mussels, crab, lobster, sole, cod and sea bass. There is also one classic Sauvignon Blanc pairing that originated in Loire Valley, France. A bit of the Loire Valley famed Crottin de Chavignol with a splash of Sauvignon Blanc is considered a classic perfect pair. If you’re more into the vegetarian fare, dishes such as hummus, zucchini lasagna and cucumber yogurt salad goes well with this drink as well.
Honesty In The Craft
One of Lionel Osmin’s aims is to promote the grape varietals in their most honest form. This is why the winemakers allow themselves to take part in each step of the wine aging, giving meticulous time towards how they look after their products-- from the moment the grapes are harvested up until they are served in the bottles we can now enjoy.
This honesty in their craft has paid off, especially given that they have received international recognition for the La Reserve Sauvignon Blanc. This white has bagged Gold at the Hong Kong Grand Tasting Wine Awards of Bettane & Desseauve 2018.
Compare this bottle with our Sauvignon Blanc wines and French Wines to explore other producers, styles and current prices. For its regional context, explore Bordeaux.
