This Muscadet has a clear straw yellow color, and is both full-bodied and fresh. On the nose, it’s exotic, with notes of citrus and aniseed. It’s lovely and silky on the palate, with an elegant minerality. It’s an intense, complex, and persistent wine, with a long finish.
Drink this Muscadet as aperitif, paired with goat cheese on your charcuterie. It’s wonderful to enjoy with seafood, shellfish, and fish, as well. If you want to have a glass to end your meal, pair it with fruity desserts.
Found along the Loire River near the city of Nantes, the Loire Valley is a renowned wine region, with winemaking dating to as far back as the first century. It follows the river through 87 appellations, producing mainly white wines from grapes like Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, and Melon de Bourgogne, and red wines from Cabernet Franc. Its range also touches on rosés, dessert wines, and sparkling wines. Loire Valley wines have characteristic freshness, crispness and fruitiness, and is the second largest producer of sparkling wine in France, next only to Champagne.
