A beautiful blend of grapes from roughly 40-year-old vines, the Reveur La Vigne en Rosé is floral on the nose, and complex on the palate, and wonderful to pair with a variety of dishes.

TASTING NOTES FROM THE CURATOR

Vignoble du Reveur’s La Vigne en Rosé is made with Gewurztraminer and Riesling grapes from vines of around 40 years old. The varietals are vinified separately in stainless steel tanks, then aged for 12 months in tank.

This rosé from Alsace, France has an ABV of 14%. It is floral and fruity on the nose, and complex on the palate, with notes of apricots and honey.

PREPARATION AND PAIRINGS

Pair the Reveur La Vigne en Rosé with aged Gouda cheese and cured meats to start. It goes great with dishes like roasted balsamic beetroot and shallot tart, beef carpaccio, and salmon tartare.

A WINERY OF ONE’S OWN

Mathieu Deiss grew up (and is still) part of Domaine Marcel Deiss, his father’s family domaine. And while he loves working on the vines and cellars of his family winery, he wanted something that was more of his own. In 2013, he and his partner, Emmanuelle Milan, decided to found Vignoble du Rêveur. He was left seven hectares by his uncle and grandfather, and in 2016, he took all that on, using his own know-how to create wines the way he wants. He decided to go back to the most traditional of methods—organic and biodynamic agriculture. Inspired by his maternal grandfather who fought for his own independence, Vignoble du Rêveur is Mathieu’s way of honoring that drive. Dreaming and building without limits, breaking rules, and loving the work.
