A PGI pro¬≠tect¬≠ed prod¬≠uct, Terre Exo¬≠tique Fleur de Sel from Gu√©rande is a rare and lux¬≠u¬≠ri¬≠ous fleur de sel from the north¬≠ern region of Brit¬≠tany and is a hall¬≠mark of French Gastronomy.

Sourced from the Atlantic Ocean that makes its way to the ‚Äč‚Äėmarais salants‚Äô or salt marsh¬≠es stretch¬≠ing between the Loire and Vilaine rivers, the cre¬≠ation of this French Fleur de Sel is a com¬≠plex one. Once a del¬≠i¬≠cate bal¬≠ance of wind, sun and the right tem¬≠per¬≠a¬≠ture is achieved to allow the salt to float to the sur¬≠face of the shal¬≠low pools, it is then col¬≠lect¬≠ed by a salt pick¬≠er, known as the paludi¬≠er, with a wood¬≠en rake. The frag¬≠ile salt crys¬≠tals are then nat¬≠u¬≠ral¬≠ly dried instead of processed through salt mills.

Storage Instructions

Store in a cool, dry, dark cup¬≠board, away from the heat and light. Choose a spot in the kitchen that‚Äôs away from the oven. The best tem¬≠per¬≠a¬≠ture for stor¬≠ing oil is from 13 to 21¬įC.
