4.1
This prized bottles shows a pale yellow color. On the nose, a bouquet of pastry and bakery aromas and fresh bread with a touch of honey. On the palate, a nicely integrated and long finish.
Bagging 93 points from James Suckling, the latter describes it as “full-bodied and round with fine bubbles. Flavorful and intense. Vivid, bread-dough finish. This is four years on lees. 55% Chardonnay and the rest Pinot.”
We highly recommend this bottle with our collection of Caviars available under Bow Tie Duck’s express delivery.
Laurent-Perrier’s Brut Non-Vintage is the world’s fifth best-selling fizz. This blend is created by cellar master, Michel Fauconnet who has been a seasoned member of Maison Laurent-Perrier since 1973. It is not a surprise that this bottle is one of the most sought after champagnes in the world when the process in their blending takes up numerous assemblage.
Creating the perfect blend requires blending of different varietals under appellation (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, depending on the cuvées), coming from different crus (villages of growth). Varietals and crus at time of harvest (no Chardonnay from Avize with Chardonnay from Oger, etc) are systematically separated and categorized.
The cellar master requires tasting several hundreds of different ‘clear wines’ to taste before coming up with the final blend. It means projecting four years ahead when the wine will be ready after ageing. It is the savoir-faire of the House. Michel Fauconnet is the final decision-maker but passionately works with a small team that are just as keen as he is.
