Called “Kanelbullar” in its country of origin, this pastry of Swedish birth is a classic, heart-warming romance of earthy, spicy sweetness with a modern touch of Makati Shangri-La flair. Comes in a box of 3 pieces.
TASTING NOTES FROM THE CURATOR
A melting pot of German baking techniques, Danish ingredients, and finally, Swedish kitchens, the sticky sweet cinnamon roll originated in Northern Europe in the mid-1700s.
A few centuries later, Makati Shangri-La take a twist on this classic with their own version of the Cinnamon Roll — with 2 types of bread doughs in their recipe.
Tearing apart this roll, its crispy, golden-brown crust reveals swirling layers of chocolate and vanilla bread in between a sweet filling of the cinnamon, plump raisins, and sugar. A delicious crunch meets a sweet and soft center, a modern take on the classic cinnamon roll by the luxury pâtissiers of Makati Shangri-La.

Called kanelbulle in Sweden where this sweet pastry originated, the cinnamon roll is traditionally enjoyed during fika, a Swedish culture of taking a break out of your day to sit down with friends or colleagues and share a few stories over a cup of coffee and pastries.
Enjoyed anytime of the day, cinnamon rolls are also a common breakfast staple. Serve simply or top your cinnamon rolls with slices of strawberries, whipped cream and some granola or bananas, bacon and maple syrup for a more delicious and filling meal. Enjoy with a cup of Italian Vittoria Espresso Ground Coffee.

Baked fresh on Saturday mornings at Makati Shangri-La. Best consumed upon arrival, but you can store it at room temperature overnight in their original packaging. For storage up to a week, wrap them in parchment paper or plastic wrap and refrigerate. Alternatively, you can freeze your parchment-wrapped viennoiserie in a ziplock bag for up to two weeks.
To refresh refrigerated viennoiserie, preheat your oven to 200°C and place the pastry on a baking tray with a loose covering of foil. Bake for 5 – 10 minutes (depending on your oven) then allow to cool to desired temperature. The same process applies to frozen viennoiserie. Just thaw them overnight first!
