Bordier Algues is the famed Seaweed butter or a seafarer’s butter, as they call it. It draws its intensity from seaweed filled with iodine, and colors your plates with its lovely tones of red, green and black. Jean-Yves Bordier was the first to create a butter with seaweed. It is also the first flavored butter in his collection that became nobility thanks to Eric Lecerf, Head Chef at Joël Robuchon.
Bordier Algues is an obvious choice for your seafood and shellfish dishes, it packs a real “wow” factor with a cut of rare red meat.
Refrigerate your butter immediately after it arrives, leaving it in its original wrapper. The foil/paper helps prevent spoilage that may result from exposure to light and air, as well as offering protection from the aromas and flavors of other foods in the refrigerator. Once opened, it has 5 weeks shelf life in the refrigerator. This period can be prolonged by freezing.
