A classic Japanese flavor, the Kurīmu Azuki ice cream is sweet and earthy, with a creamy, soft texture.

TASTING NOTES FROM THE CURATOR

Azuki bean is also referred to as adzuki bean or red bean, and is a very popular flavor in Japanese desserts and street foods. The Kurīmu Azuki ice cream is made from Kurīmu own signature red bean paste, and is delicious and creamy. It has a deep and complex flavor—earthy notes with a light sweetness.

PREPARATION AND PAIRINGS

While incredible to enjoy on its own, you can add a little more complexity to your Kurīmu Azuki ice cream by topping it with black sesame seeds, or with toasted almond slivers. Why not have a Japanese-inspired sweet brunch and top scoops of Kurīmu Azuki over a stack of matcha pancakes? Oishi!

THESE BEANS CARRY MAGIC

Azuki bean, also called adzuki or red mung bean, are small legumes that are popularly used in East Asian cuisine. They are a common and popular ingredient in Japanese desserts and street food, in particular. They were introduced around a thousand years ago to Japan from China, and are presently the sixth largest crop grown in Japan. These legumes are usually used as red bean paste, and have a sweet, nutty flavor.

Storage Instructions

Kurīmu Ice Cream is freshly churned daily, and contains no preservatives. Keep it fresh by storing it at the back of your freezer (where it is coldest), and making sure the lid is tightly shut, to prevent moisture and other contaminants from getting in. It is best consumed within 2-3 months.
