Valpolicella is typically made from three grape varieties: 60% Corvina Veronese, 30% Rondinella, and 10% Molinara. This wine is a young, immediate red which retains the essence of the earth from which it was cultivated. It is ruby red in color with purplish highlights and an intense, vinous bouquet, with hints of violets and cherries. A medium-bodied, fruity wine, to be enjoyed young.
This Speri Valpolicella Classico DOC is characterised by fragrant scents and fresh flavours and is the ideal accompaniment for any kind of dish. Makes an ideal pairing partner to hors d’oeuvres, soups, pasta and typical Mediterranean dishes.
Valpolicella Classico – as the name suggests – was the original wine produced in the region. It remains the most popular Valpolicella today and is produced in the largest quantities. The vineyards from which this is produced is owned by the Speri family in Valpolicella Classico area, lying in the municipalities of San Pietro in Cariano, Fumane and Negrar.
The Speri Winery, one of the historical families of Valpolicella, is an authoritative and faithful interpreter of Valpolicella Classico wines that has become, due to its uninterrupted traditions and strong territorial roots, a landmark in Italian winemaking.
In 2015, after practicing years of sustainable farming, the Winery achieved organic certification for all of the production.
The Speri family, respecting its territorial heritage, has always cultivated exclusively the native grape varieties of the Valpolicella zone (Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Molinara and other indigenous varieties), making wine only from grapes coming from its own vineyards and itself overseeing the entire production process.
Store unopened red wines in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 16 to 18°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
