Heirloom Black Krim Tomatoes ( Noires de Crimée )
Soft and sweet big tomatoes
A beautiful purple color, the very fleshy black Crimean tomato has a particularly mild and sweet flavor. Without any acidity, with very few seeds, that’s why children love it. Prefer it in salads, or as a snack.
Tasting notes of the curator
Native to the Crimean Peninsula on the Black Sea, this very large heirloom tomato is a favorite of children because it has no acidity and few seeds. The smooth, purple-red fruits with green shoulders are round and regular and turn almost black in very hot summers. Their dark red and green flesh has a unique, soft and sweet taste that is unanimously appreciated in salads. The medium-sized fruits usually weigh between 120 and 150 g, but they can sometimes weigh twice as much.
A little bit of salt and olive oil suffice to enjoy this exceptional tomato.
The Marie-Louise Morf farm
Since 1950, this Provençal market gardener initiated what still makes the success of their farm: to produce “haute couture” fruits and vegetables with an irreproachable taste and reserved for specialists close to their customers.
Cultivated with respect for sustainable development by a handful of farmers in the South of France, Morf tomatoes are still synonymous with rarity, quality and high standards.
Between texture and juiciness, they are known for gustatory excellence with typical and authentic fruits.
Picked at optimal maturity, with delicacy, they will seduce the most demanding.
The tomato is a very fragile product which needs a particular attention to optimize its conservation.
Let’s avoid exposing them to heat by finding a cool place away from the light.
Put your tomatoes facing upwards to avoid them getting soft.
You will be able to consume them within two to five days from the day of delivery.
Don’t put them in the refrigerator as they may lose their flavour.
You can also freeze them. Simply place them on a plate, spread out and let them rest for 15 minutes in your freezer.
The larger the tomatoes, the longer you should wait for them to freeze. You can then remove the plate and pack the tomatoes together. They should be used within three months.
