A Creamy Spread
La Cabrette is a fresh and mild flavored pasteurized goat’s milk cheese with as spreadable nature. It originates from Var, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region of southeastern France.
TASTING NOTES FROM THE CURATOR
Cabrette is a cheese made entirely from goat milk and is perfect for spreading. It has a creamy, smooth texture and a mild flavour. Goat’s milk is known for its many nutritional values and is more easily digested than cow’s milk.
Cabrette is extraordinary versatile and can be used in dips, open sandwiches and tapas; plus it makes a delicious ingredient in quiches or other hot dishes.
Cheeses (except brined ones in jars) should be stored in the crisper or the butter drawer of a refrigerator, not on the shelves themselves. This is to help regulate their temperature and humidity levels—and prevents the formation of mold. Once opened, they should not be kept in their original packaging. This fresh cheese should be stored in a lidded plastic or glass container in the refrigerator. Kindly pay attention to the best before date label when you receive your cheese. Consume prior to date indicated.
