Cristal peppers are sometimes called the foie gras of peppers for their soft texture and wonderful flavors. They come from the same region in Navarre as piquillo peppers.

TASTING NOTES FROM THE CURATOR

The El Navarrico Cristal Peppers are rare peppers, and are grown in Navarre, Spain. They are roasted and peeled by hand, and have a soft and tender texture, with sweet, acidic notes. They are velvety rich, with a buttery, smoky flavor.

PREPARATION AND PAIRINGS

The El Navarrico Cristal Peppers can be used in a variety of ways. They can be roasted, stuffed, pickled, or fried. They are also great to turn in to sauces or dips, as well as to flavor stews.

EBRO AND EGA

El Navarrico have the great fortune of owning property in the town of San Adrian, in a land beautifully nourished and fertilized by the Rivers Ebro and Ega. The area is always the perfect environment, constantly having a temperate climate.

Though since grown in repute, El Navarrico strives to keep maintaining the natural order of things, keeping in tune with nature with every harvest. They’ve adapted modern technology, but never to the point of disregarding the tradition that make their products top quality.
