Igor Gorgonzola cheese is certified “naturally lactose free” by the Italian lactose-intolerant Association (AILI), and is until today the only PDO cheese to have obtained this important certification. In Gorgonzola the absence of lactose is a natural result of the production process of this cheese. It is rich in protein and calcium and naturally free from gluten and lactose, Gorgonzola has a cholesterol content in a hectogram of product equal to the turkey breast, chicken, dried beef, sea bream or sea bass. For this reason, people who are intolerant or who do not digest lactose can find Gorgonzola a precious ally for not giving up taste and pleasure.
