TASTING NOTES FROM THE CURATOR
Using only pasteurized milk from farms surrounding their dairy and fromagerie in Machecoul, Beillevaire makes traditional yogurt that is creamy and rich with a satin texture and delicate taste. Their signature plain yogurt is perfected with the addition of pure vanilla extracts to give a wonderful almost caramelly taste with a light floral component
Beillevaire’s Vanilla Yogurt comes in packs of 2 per order.

AN ANCIENT DELIGHT
Yogurt has appeared in many cuisines over the centuries. The Greeks, Romans, and the people of the Indian subcontinent considered yogurt the only safe way of preserving milk for millennia. Genghis Khan of the Mongol Empire was reputed to have fed his army yogurt to make them braver warriors. Yogurt found its way to France in the 16th century when King François I of France was introduced to the dairy product by Turkish allies as a cure for diarrhea. Mixed with honey, cinnamon, and fruit, it eventually became the dessert that we know and love today.
Immediately store your yogurt in the back portion of the fridge, never the door, at 4°C or below. Once out of the fridge, do consume it immediately! Do not leave yogurt at room temperature for more than 2 hours. When stored properly, the shelf-life of yogurt is seven to 14 days.
