Mica Tan was born to be an entrepreneur. She started at 13, trading stocks, and by the age of 15, she was trading foreign exchange. She had always been business-savvy, so it was no surprise when at only 25 years old, she co-founded the MFT Group of Companies. A private equity firm, it operates in a number of countries and cities worldwide. As president and CEO of MFT, she oversees the company’s investments in many industries, from healthcare to financing to entertainment to real estate and more.
Her beneficiary of choice is the PGH Medical Foundation, Inc. This non-stock, non-profit organization seeks to aid the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) in its mission to provide the best care for its impoverished patients, who make up about 98% of their patient population.
