From the Duoro, Portugal‚Äôs famed wine region, comes this fab¬≠u¬≠lous blend¬≠ed white wine. Sourced from the sus¬≠tain¬≠ably farmed 90-year-old Duoro Supe¬≠ri¬≠ore vine¬≠yards, this wine has a pedi¬≠gree all of its own.


Min¬≠er¬≠al¬≠i¬≠ty rings true from the very first sip of this wine, with tast¬≠ing notes of stone, mead¬≠ow herbs, dried quince, anise, and a faint salt and flint fin¬≠ish. No won¬≠der, since it‚Äôs made from 70 per¬≠cent Rabi¬≠ga¬≠to‚ÄČ‚ÄĒ‚ÄČone of the bright¬≠est, most acidic white grapes in the Duoro‚ÄČ‚ÄĒ‚ÄČbal¬≠anced with Code¬≠ga, Gou¬≠veio, Vios¬≠in¬≠ho, and Dozeli¬≠no Bran¬≠co. It is a wine with fan¬≠tas¬≠tic struc¬≠ture and finesse, a joy to drink imme¬≠di¬≠ate¬≠ly or to store for a spe¬≠cial occasion.


Por¬≠tuguese wines belong to the Old World wine group¬≠ing, espe¬≠cial¬≠ly blends from the Duoro. While young, the Xis¬≠to Cru Bran¬≠co by Luis Seabra Vin¬≠hos, made pre¬≠dom¬≠i¬≠nant¬≠ly with the high¬≠ly aro¬≠mat¬≠ic Rabi¬≠ga¬≠to grape, is beau¬≠ti¬≠ful with seafood, espe¬≠cial¬≠ly grilled fish with a light sal¬≠a¬≠da mix¬≠ta on the side. Shell¬≠fish like stone crabs, mus¬≠sels, and clams, plen¬≠ti¬≠ful in the region, also pair well with this wine. With a few years‚Äô aging, the Xis¬≠to Cru Bran¬≠co also pairs well with stronger fish dish¬≠es like bacalao, salty cod, and roast chick¬≠en or rab¬≠bit dish¬≠es in white sauce. 


Luis Seabra spe­cial­izes in cru wines. Hav­ing got­ten his start at the pres­ti­gious Niepoort Win­ery in the Duoro Val­ley, Seabra decid­ed to strike out on his own in 2012. His goal in set­ting up shop in both the Duoro and the Dão regions of Por­tu­gal is to make wines from spe­cif­ic vine­yards with lit­tle inter­ven­tion, cre­at­ing vin­tages that are raw, pure, tast­ing of the ter­roir itself.

Storage Instructions

Store your unopened bot¬≠tle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from con¬≠stant vibra¬≠tion. Keep your bot¬≠tle hor¬≠i¬≠zon¬≠tal in a wine rack or cel¬≠lar to retain the moist¬≠ness of the cork. The ide¬≠al tem¬≠per¬≠a¬≠ture for stor¬≠age is between 7 to 15¬įC. Once opened, a bot¬≠tle will be good for 3 to 5 days stand¬≠ing upright in the refrigerator.
