Tasting Notes From The Curator
Stefania Calugi Slices of Summer Truffle in Oil are the very best that Florence has to offer. MAde with some of the best summer truffles in the world, these delicious morsels are caringly sliced and preserved in extra virgin olive oil. They are ready to use, meaning you can consume them as is, or add them to your favorite meal. Summer truffles are very popular. They offer a creamy, nutty, sweet flavor, albeit a lot less pungent than their perigord or piedmont cousins. Nonetheless, they offer a delicious flavor which can be paired easily with many dishes.
Preparation
These delicious truffles are the perfect accompaniment or main star for a variety of dishes - they work just as well on their own as they do with other ingredients. Due to the subtle flavors of the summer truffle, they are not as pungent and will not overpower dishes. They work great with fish, cream pastas, and risottos. They also work well on the main star of a truffle, parmesan, and extra virgin olive oil farfalle. This dish would pair perfectly with Castello Di Querceto Chianti thanks to its fruity, fragrant palate.
