Buttery sweet with a sharp salty kick, Merry Moo’s Sea Salt Caramel combines the highest quality local sea salt with Laguna fresh milk for an utterly smooth, creamy taste.

Butter notes flood the mouth from the very first bite, followed by a fine, salty kick that dissipates on the palate. Merry Moo partners with Laguna farmers for access to free-range cows that produce the thickest, creamiest milk. The result? A wonderfully full-flavored ice cream base ready for mixing with the richest caramel and sharpest sea salt that can be found on Philippine shores.
A little butter, a little salt, this flavor has made itself at home in ice cream chillers everywhere. Merry Moo’s version, made with non-UHT dairy, maintains a level of extra creaminess that blends perfectly with the salted caramel flavor. It’s a simple but satisfying dessert all on its own. A lightly sweet wafer biscuit or three on the side does make for a lovely texture contrast. And if you happen to be a coffee connoisseur, the creamy, buttery taste of this ice cream is impossibly perfect in an affogato made with our Vittoria Espresso Ground Coffee.
A CARAMEL CONUNDRUM
This delightful two-punch of flavors came to us as it is today in stages. The French chocolatier Henri Le Roux opened his first shop in the 1960s. He chose Brittany, France for its location, a place known for its salted butter. In an attempt to integrate the region’s best-known ingredient, he created salted butter caramel with the aid of sugar and crushed nuts. He went on to win the award Best Sweet in France by the Salon international de la confiserie in Paris in 1980. This drew the attention of renowned pâtissier Pierre Hermé, who used Le Roux’s innovation to create the salted caramel macaron. From there, the flavor made its way across the world, going from a cult trend to a cemented classic
