A blend of 60 different eaux-de-vie made from Ugni Blanc grapes aged for up to 15 years, Hennessy V.S.O.P Privilège is an embodiment of balance and class.
This cognac begins with an aroma of spiced oranges, apricots and hints of cinnamon and cloves enveloping your senses. Settling into the palate, the aromatic complexity creates a smooth, rounded cognac that deepens to reveal flavours of candied fruits, vanilla and mild tobacco. A subtle sweetness is present throughout, balanced by a lingering bitterness and spice at the finish.
The delicate, smooth flavours and aromas of Hennessy V.S.O.P Privilègemeans it demands to be savoured slowly, neat or with one rock to further open up the bouquet and flavours of this smooth, balanced cognac.
Alternatively, enjoy this cognac with cocktails inspired from its French heritage. An elegant drink that originated from the Ritz Hotel Bar in Paris, mix Hennessy V.S.O.P Privilege with Cointreau for the classic Sidecar Cocktail. Or pair with some chartreuse for a lovely Champs Elysees.
As with the history of Hennessy X.O, the House of Hennessy also holds the distinction of creating the first cognac to coin, V.S.O.P or “Very Special Old Pale.”
Now being used to distinguish ageing of cognacs (V.S.O.P being cognacs aged at least 4 years in French oak barrels), this term was initially used when the Prince of Wales and future King George IV of Great Britain placed a special order with Hennessy Maison for the very first V.S.O.P. It was delivered to the royal prince in 1818 and has been with the estate ever since.
Store your bottle upright in a cool, dark place, ideally between 12 and 15°C. There is no need to refrigerate cognac. To maintain the moistness of the cork and prevent it from chipping, occasionally tilt your bottle horizontally two to three times, then restore it to the upright position. Opened bottles of cognac should be consumed within six months, as the alcohol may oxidize and begin to lose its flavor.
