The youngest of Bodegas Tradicion’s brandies, it has an ABV of 36%. It’s aged for 10 years in American oak casks which previously contained oloroso sherry wines from Bodegas Tradicion. It uses traditional Solera systems for aging, exclusive to Jerez.
The Brandy Guarda Canton Solera Gran Reserva is refreshing, delicate, and light. It’s warm on the nose, with notes of caramel, marzipan, and hazelnut. It’s velvety on the palate, with flavor notes of cinnamon and hints of orange peel and tobacco.
Perfect to drink after lunch or after dinner, serve your Bodegas Tradicion Brandy Guarda Canton Solera Gran Reserva in a large glass. It’s perfect to drink on its own, although some people enjoy it mixed with soda water, lemon soda, or Coca Cola. Pair with salted or roasted nuts.
The name of this brandy is taken from a painting in the Bodegas Tradicion art gallery. It’s named the Guardacanton, and was painted by Jiménez Aranda in the 18th century. It depicts a bandit/gangster with a tough look on his face and a cigar in his mouth, wearing a floral vest, a red cloth around his waist, and a lavender cape over his shoulder.
Store your brandy upright, away from heat and light, like in a dark and cool cupboard or pantry. Once opened, consume within 12 months, and keep stored tightly sealed and upright in cool, dark environments.
