Its main ingredients include the finest salt, onions, smoked salt, pepper, and tumeric.

Preparation

Known to be inherited from the Vikings, this salt is a superb accompaniment to gratin dauphinois, eggs, crunchy raw salad vegetables and of course, salmon. Both strong and delicate, Terre Exotique Viking Smoked Salt makes a wonderful, magical condiment to have at reach in your own kitchen.

Viking salt is known to be a culinary heritage of these formidable warriors. In love with adventure, riches, and war, the Vikings, aboard their fearsome long ships, conquered Europe, Russia, the Mediterranean coast and the northern part of the American continent in the 10th century.

Viking salt from Egersund (a charming Norwegian fishing port on the edge of the majestic fjords) is a mixture of salt, curry and black pepper. The recipe had faded into obscurity, but recently was found again, much to the delight of many.
