A delicate burrata crafted in the Pugliese tradition and produced in Murcia, Spain. Silky on the outside and decadently creamy within, this fresh cheese delivers pure dairy elegance—perfect for effortless antipasti or refined home entertaining.

Tasting Notes of the Curator

Burrata Pugliese Murcia is a study in contrast and restraint. Its outer shell is formed from fresh mozzarella—supple, smooth, and gently elastic. When sliced, it reveals its signature heart: stracciatella, a luscious blend of cream and delicate mozzarella strands that flow softly onto the plate.

On the palate, it is milky and sweet with a clean lactic freshness. The texture is what defines it most—lightly structured on the outside, decadently fluid at the center. There is no sharpness, no aggressive salt. Instead, it offers a rounded creaminess that feels airy yet indulgent. The finish is soft and lingering, leaving a whisper of fresh dairy and sweet cream.

Crafted in Murcia using traditional Pugliese methods, this burrata captures the spirit of Southern Italian cheesemaking while reflecting Spain’s growing expertise in fresh dairy production. It is understated luxury—quiet, elegant, and deeply satisfying.

Pairings and Suggestions

Burrata rewards simplicity and high-quality accompaniments.

Classic Serving

Place on a shallow plate.

Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil.

Finish with flaky sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper.

Pair With

Heirloom tomatoes and fresh basil for a timeless Caprese variation.

Grilled sourdough rubbed with garlic.

Prosciutto or speck for savory contrast.

Roasted peaches or figs for a sweet-salty balance.

A crisp white wine such as Sauvignon Blanc or a dry rosé.

Serve at cool room temperature for the creamiest texture. Remove from refrigeration 20–30 minutes before plating to allow the center to soften beautifully.

A Cheese Born of Craft

Burrata originated in Puglia, Italy, as a way to use leftover mozzarella scraps by blending them with cream and encasing them in a fresh mozzarella pouch. The name “burrata” comes from “burro,” meaning butter—an ode to its rich, buttery interior. Today, its production has expanded beyond Italy, yet the heart of burrata remains unchanged: freshness above all else.

The Murcia interpretation honors this heritage while benefiting from Spain’s strong dairy tradition. Each piece must be handled gently and consumed fresh, as burrata is at its peak when the stracciatella remains soft and flowing. It is a cheese that celebrates immediacy—meant to be opened, shared, and enjoyed without delay.
