Mascagni’s flagship product, the Almond Cantucci Mandorla is an oblong-shaped biscuit with pieces of almonds within. Cantuccis are also called biscotti, and are twice-baked, making them very dry and crunchy. For this reason, they are usually accompanied with a drink to dip them in.
Cantuccis are usually dipped in a beverage of some sort. Traditionally, Italians enjoy this dipped in “vin santo,” but any sweet dessert wine will do. It’s also perfect to dip in espresso. Whether alcoholic or caffeinated, you will love ending your dinners with Mascagni Almond Cantucci Mandorla.
Founded by Giuseppe Mascagni in the 1940s, the F.lli Mascagni Company of Valdichiana, Italy began with a wood-burning oven and a small millstone for producing bread. Today, it is a leader in bread and confectionary products, the latter debuting in the early 1980s, with sponge cake, tarts, bigne, and almond cantucci, which has become their flagship product.
