Tasting Notes from the Curator
Kimbo Arabica Coffee is a medium roast blend made of 100% Arabica beans from Central and South America, roasted in Italy. It exudes a nutty flavor, delicate acidity and notes of malt, toasted bread and almond.
From breakfast to dessert, hot or cold, this drink is versatile and is delicious to sip with food. Fresh fruits and fruit-based desserts will blend well but careful not to overdo with sour or tangy fruits. You can also enjoy your cup of Arabica coffee with chocolates to experience a match made in heaven. Feeling creative? Use your Kimbo Arabica coffee to make coffee-based desserts such as tiramisu.
Kimbo, a company founded in Naples, Italy, back in 1963 to meet the coffee and espresso demands of the Napolitano people, has rapidly grown into a multinational brand providing the best Arabica coffee to the world. Thanks to its repetitive success in dominating the coffee market with reliable distinction in taste, texture, aroma, quality, and method, Kimbo has gone ahead to receive several awards including three The Caterer Product Excellence Award.
The awards they get are reflective of the rigorous process that comes into processing the beans. Samples of beans undergo various tests, before they even arrive in Italy to be sent to the coffee roasting plant. Once brought to the plant, the coffee is brought to between 160° and 250°C for a time that varies from 8 to 12 minutes. The roasting is done in three phases: dehydration which eliminates the humidity, then the roasting, and finally the cooling process, which is done at room temperature. This is the phase in which the coffee acquires all of its aroma.
The strength of the roasting influences how strong or weak the colour and taste will be. This is where the experience of the people at Kimbo becomes fundamental as they are seasoned experts in determining the ideal temperature and roasting time for each batch.
Store in a cool dry place while carefully avoiding moisture as it destroys the coffee flavor.
