A truly elegant wine, the VĂ©ritĂ© Le DĂ©sir is among the top 1% of wines in the world, with a score of 99 on Robert Parker. It’s well-rounded, and well-structured.

TASTING NOTES FROM THE CURATOR

It shines a brilliantly deep ruby red in your glass—an almost opaque purple, even. It’s an expertly made blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malbec. It’s powerful and elegant, with a supple, multi-layered mouthfeel, and an incredible finish.

On the nose, it gives notes of spices: nutmeg and white pepper are prominent, with undertones of wood smoke and roasted espresso. On the palate: minerality, roundness, ripe fruit—blueberries, florals, and oak undertones.

PREPARATION AND PAIRINGS

This elegant Sonoma County wine pairs great with goat cheeses, feta, and Camembert. Enjoy with beef, lamb, game, and poultry for mains. We suggest lamb kebabs or lamb gyros, meatballs with tomato sauce, or barbecued ribs.

End your meal with a glass of Vérité Le Désir paired with a rich flourless chocolate cake, maybe with raspberries to top it off.

THE FRUIT OF KINDRED SPIRITS

VĂ©ritĂ© is the magical collaboration of two people who are not only passionate about wine, but masters of their craft. Pierre Seillan, a Master Winemaker who’s dedicated 50 years to this art, met Jess Jackson, founder of one of the most successful wine companies in the US, in France in the 1990s. A kinship between the Seillans of Bordeaux and the Jacksons of California blossomed.

It was when Pierre visited California in 1997 did their dream to produce world class wines from California come into fruition—VĂ©ritĂ© was born. Jackson has since passed, and Pierre is now mentoring Helene Seillan, in order to usher in a new generation, one that will continue their legacies with pride and passion.

The year 2013 blessed Sonoma county with a faultless growing season. There was no excessive heat, which allowed for even ripening, and there was little rain in the winter. The moisture of the soil during spring was perfect, and allowed the vines to bloom beautifully.
