Kyushu Loaf (Matcha Olive Oil Cake) by Gourmigz
A tasty trip to Japan
Take your tastebuds on a journey to Japan with the Kyushu Loaf by Gourmigz. It’s tasty, very moist, and has a bold but balanced flavor.
TASTING NOTES FROM THE CURATOR
Like all of Gourmigz’ olive oil cakes, the Kyushu Loaf is moist and soft and absolutely sublime. Made with real matcha from Kyushu, Japan, it’s a well-crafted delight. The matcha flavor is prominent, never overwhelmed by the sugar or olive oil, which is how you know Gourmigz doesn’t skimp on quality.
PREPARATION AND PAIRINGS
The Kyushu Loaf by Gourmigz is not overly sweet, making it the perfect dessert to an elaborate and special dinner, where rich food is served. Pair it with a Merlot, and you have yourself the best meal-ender.
Of course, you don’t have to wait for a nice dinner with all your friends to enjoy this cake. The Kyushu Loaf is incredible on its own, and doesn’t need any icing or powdered sugar. Have it for merienda, with a nice cup of tea—it’ll definitely hit the spot.
A KITCHEN WITH A HEART
Miguel David—or Migz, as he is lovingly called, picked up baking during the pandemic, as most did. But he stood out. He ventured into olive oil cakes, something he had never done or even had before. Without knowing how it would turn out, he dove headfirst, and found himself swimming in success.
GourmigzAtHome is his online business that was born because he loved to make food, and he loved feeding people. He wanted his food in people’s bellies, and in their hearts. His kitchen, after all, is filled with love, using only the freshest ingredients, and supporting local businesses and markets.
Keep olive oil cakes in an airtight container, either at room temperature or in the refrigerator. It will last for about 7 days at room temperature, and around 16 days in the refrigerator.
