Strawberries of the woods
Fraise de bois tastes like you’ve never really eaten a strawberry before. Everything is magnified: It’s both much more acidic and much sweeter than any supermarket strawberry. It’s rich and powerful, reminding you why the Greeks saw the strawberry as a symbol of Venus, the goddess of love.
Tasting Notes from the Curator
Fraises des Bois are like no other strawberries you’ve ever had. Also called “woodland strawberries,” or “wild strawberries,” fraises des bois look delicate, but are actually very sturdy. They can tolerate very hot and very cold weather, and varying levels of humidity.
And they taste incredible. They are the best strawberries you will ever have. They’re rich, powerful, and every taste factor in this small fruit is magnified—it’s simultaneously more acidic, but also so much sweeter than the strawberries you find in the supermarket.
