Vittoria Coffee Oro Special Bar Blend
Australian Coffee Gold
Vittoria Coffee’s Special Bar range was once exclusively sold to 5-star hotels, fine dining restaurants, and premium cafés, but now comes packaged as grounds or whole beans for your at-home enjoyment. The Oro blend is one of their most exclusive.
TASTING NOTES FROM THE CURATOR
The Oro Special Bar blend is the result of 60 years of roasting tradition. Vittoria Coffee uses only the finest 100% Arabica beans for this medium-dark roast, and their well-calibrated process produces a consistently smooth and full-flavored cup of coffee. The secret is in a blend of washed Central American and unwashed South American beans. The unwashed coffee provides strength and body, and the washed beans bring in the right amount of acidity and sweetness for a truly remarkable coffee with notes of toffee, honey, and caramel.
PREPARATION OR PAIRINGS
This coffee blend is beautiful as either an espresso or with a splash of hot foam. For the budding home barista, it’s best to brew medium-dark roasts in water between 87 to 93°C. Remember, the darker the bean—whether in whole or ground form—the more porous it is, and the less heat you need to pull the flavors out. Grab a crusty baguette from our Makati Shangri-La line, and you’re in for a smooth, pleasant morning.
GREAT AUSTRALIAN COFFEE
Vittoria Coffee is one of the great pioneer brands in the Australian coffee industry. This family-owned company has been in business since 1958, but their true origins began when Italian brothers Orazio and Carmelo arrived in the country in 1947, intent on introducing a taste of their heritage to their new home. They began roasting locally grown 100% Arabica beans a time long before the industry even had a standard. They then started creating special blends for each of Sydney’s fine coffee establishments and have today set the standard for Australian coffee excellence.
Store your coffee in an opaque, odor-free, airtight container in a dry, dark place at a cool room temperature. It’s best to consume coffee grounds within two weeks. Freshly roasted whole beans retain their freshness for up to one month.
