The Alain Ducasse Truffles Box contains 15 aesthetically rustic rectangles. They come in three varieties within the box—dark ganache, vanilla ganache, and chestnut cream. They’re all coated in chocolate and dusted with cocoa powder. They are flavorful and scrumptious, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture.
It is very tempting to finish this whole box by yourself, to be honest. It’s as perfect for solo snacking on a lazy night, watching a movie on your television, as it is sharing with friends as you catch up for the holidays. Pair with a cup of steaming gourmet coffee, or a glass of red wine.
Alain Ducasse is a household name in the culinary industry. Born in Orthez, in southwestern France, he took his first steps to gastronomic success as an apprentice at the Pavillon Landais restaurant, and at the Bordeaux hotel school, when he was 16. In 1980, he landed his first chef position at L’Amandier in Mougins, and became head chef at La Terrasse in the Hotel Juana the year after.
In 1986, he went to the Hotel de Paris in Monte Carlo as its chef. In 2008, he became a naturalized citizen of Monaco. He prepared the multi-course gala dinner for the wedding of Prince Albert of Monaco to Charlene Wittstock in 2011. He also co-headed the next day’s brunch festivities with Joël Robuchon.
He was the first ever chef to have three Michelin Starred restaurants in three cities. In 2012, he held a total of 21 Michelin stars, ranking below Joël Robuchon who had 31 at the time, and above Gordon Ramsay, who had 17.
Store your chocolates in a cool, dark place, ideally between 18 to 24°C. You can use the refrigerator, but place the chocolate in an airtight container to keep the moisture and humidity out—and retain its full range of flavors, of course!
