TASTING NOTES FROM THE CURATOR

Soalheiro Alvarinho – This Alvarinho from Soalheiro boasts a lovely citrus hue, fresh fruity flavors, and a medium acidity. This wine is extremely tropical and dry, with undertones of minerals.

Bodega y Vinedos Valderiz Valdehermoso Roble – Aged for 8 months in French oak barrels to bring out the tinta del país, this Valdehermoso is full of character, with intense aromas of well-ripened wild fruits and underlayers of spice and a certain smokiness. It is well-rounded on the mouth, with much of its body coming from smoothly presented tannins. It is very fruity with a hint of wood, and has a pleasant, lingering finish.

Arzuaga Ribera Del Duero Rosae – The Arzuaga Ribera del Duero Rosae is made with pure Tempranillo grapes that were grown on 25-year-old vines on the winery’s La Planta estate. It has an ABV of 13.2%, and is a clean and bright pale salmon color. It’s very aromatic, with noticeable notes of strawberry and raspberry, and hints of citrus and passionfruit. On the palate, it’s fresh and bright, with finishing flavors of compote cherries.

PREPARATION AND PAIRINGS

These wines all pair well with cheeses and cured meats. The white wine works best with soft, mild cheeses, and sweeter, lighter meats. The reds are great with Spanish cured meats and stronger cheeses.

Storage Instructions

RED WINE – Store unopened red wines in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 16 to 18°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.

WHITE WINE – Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
