Notes from Curator
A few of the simÂple French staÂples from brands that have been a long-standÂing instiÂtuÂtions in France. Enjoy a crusty French SourÂdough Baguette., baked fresh before delivÂery by one of our favorite bakÂeries, The PentÂhouse Kitchen & BakÂery, alongÂside the Queen of French ButÂters, ĂchirĂ© ButÂter AOP which has held an AppelÂlaÂtion dâOrigine ProÂtĂ©gĂ©e (AOP) staÂtus since 1992 and is cerÂtiÂfied Non-GMO. You may as well enjoy the bread with some preÂserved duck foie gras from the famous Godard-ChamÂbon & MarÂrelâââwhich is a joint venÂture of MaiÂson Godard (foundÂed in 1878) and MaiÂson ChamÂbon & MarÂrel ( one of the oldÂest trufÂfle merÂchants in France).
For your charÂcuÂterie board or even your main course, a condiÂment you defÂiÂniteÂly need is PomÂmery Moutarde de Meaux. The crown jewÂel of musÂtards, a pantry staÂple for French kings and queens since 1632. This musÂtard offers a robust grain with a balÂanced, slightÂly nutÂty flavour. A darÂling of proÂfesÂsionÂal chefs and kitchens, this verÂsaÂtile musÂtard is perÂfect for your charÂcuÂterie, dips and sauces.
Need a French wine to tie it all up? We raise a glass of this French red, Les Volets Pinot Noir, Pays de la Haute ValÂlĂ©e de lâAude, to the lovers of Pinot Noir. A smooth and refined red wine exudÂing fruity aroÂmas that conÂtinÂue on to the palate. A love affair with a seriÂous Pinot like this could be deliÂciousÂly danÂgerÂous but defÂiÂniteÂly worth it.
