Notes from Curator

A few of the simple French staples from brands that have been a long-standing institutions in France. Enjoy a crusty French Sourdough Baguette., baked fresh before delivery by one of our favorite bakeries, The Penthouse Kitchen & Bakery, alongside the Queen of French Butters, Échiré Butter AOP which has held an Appellation d’Origine Protégée (AOP) status since 1992 and is certified Non-GMO. You may as well enjoy the bread with some preserved duck foie gras from the famous Godard-Chambon & Marrel – which is a joint venture of Maison Godard (founded in 1878) and Maison Chambon & Marrel ( one of the oldest truffle merchants in France).

For your charcuterie board or even your main course, a condiment you definitely need is Pommery Moutarde de Meaux. The crown jewel of mustards, a pantry staple for French kings and queens since 1632. This mustard offers a robust grain with a balanced, slightly nutty flavour. A darling of professional chefs and kitchens, this versatile mustard is perfect for your charcuterie, dips and sauces.

Need a French wine to tie it all up? We raise a glass of this French red, Les Volets Pinot Noir, Pays de la Haute Vallée de l’Aude, to the lovers of Pinot Noir. A smooth and refined red wine exuding fruity aromas that continue on to the palate. A love affair with a serious Pinot like this could be deliciously dangerous but definitely worth it.
