A Long Tradition Extending Over Nearly 120 Years
Let's go back to the 1900s when Paris blossomed both artistically and intellectually at an incredible rate. Writers, painters and politicians congregated in cafés and restaurants - as well as the tea rooms which were the latest place to be. In 1903, confectioner Anton Rumpelmayer founded Angelina with his son René - a tea house at No.226 Rue de Rivoli named after his daughter-in-law. Art Nouveau represents a style as much as it does an era - the interior designed by Edouard-Jean Niermans combines elegance, charm and refinement to create a sense of romanticism and poetry that still exists today in Angelina's tearoom.
